‘Tis the season …

It’s early November, which means we here at good old WSFAU are thinking about the Christmas season.

We’re thinking about Christmas seasonal jobs, that is.

We — I — spent the last few weeks applying throughout the nearest mall and discount stores for temporary Christmas jobs. I’ve had three interviews and am now awaiting the results.

Not that working part-time from Thanksgiving to Christmas or shortly thereafter is really going to solve my cash flow problems. However, it will give me some money, and a job to help fill the gap on my resume and applications.

On a related seasonal jobs note, I was looking through children’s books while volunteering at my local library today and found a picture book titled “How Santa Lost His Job.”

Now, that’s sad. Santa, a victim of reorganization, cutbacks, or restructuring? Honestly, I didn’t know things were that tough at the North Pole ….
